Brenda Lee

CHARDONNAY

Alexander Valley

Small batch, food friendly wine made from nine different clones named after my beautiful wife Brenda Lee.

Since our first release in 2008 the Simoneau Brenda Lee Chardonnay has created a life of its own. Long time customers don’t order Chardonnay. They ask for a case of Brenda Lee.

The Brenda Lee Chardonnay Vineyard has our oldest vines, 2-acres planted in 1972, as well as our youngest planted in 2000. Nine different clones comprise the final blend. Needless to say, it’s Brenda’s favorite.

Cabernet SauvignonAlexander Valley

Our work horse red grown on five acres of prime Alexander Valley Cabernet ground. With close spacing and low vigor, our vines produce tiny berries with big flavors.

For the first time we had enough wine to enter a wine tasting competition. Our 2009 did not disappoint, as we won Gold and Best of Class, best Cabernet Sauvignon in Sonoma County, at the 2015 Sonoma county Harvest Fair. The ’09 was made BF (before FenceLine) and co-fermentation was the name of the game back then. With all that time in the bottle, this 2009 is a dream to sip.

FenceLine

BORDEAUX BLEND

Alexander Valley

This Bordeaux blend is made from grapes grown on, what else, our fence lines. To the south – Cabernet Sauvignon, the west – Merlot, leaving Petite Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc at our vineyard entrance.

My reputation as a winemaker was born from my early Bordeaux blends, winning the Amateur Sweepstakes Red in 1992 at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. With our 2011 FenceLine the tradition continues with this long lived Cabernet blend with all five of the Bordeaux varietals. One of the best 2011’s you’ll ever taste.

From the spectacular 2012 vintage, this is the third release of FenceLine. With the large crop to work with, I was able to keep more lots separate and blend just before bottling. The result is what I call a Meritage masterpiece that needs to be tasted to fully appreciate.

Chardonnay RoséAlexander Valley

Not just Rosé… Chardonnay Rosé and it’s the world’s first ever.  Will match with almost every wine and food combination and sure to blow the minds of your guests.

Never heard of Chardonnay Rosé? Not surprising as we have the only commercially labeled Chardonnay Rosé on the market. Grown to be a Rosé, it is a blend of Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon that is fermented with the Brenda Lee Chardonnay and aged in neutral red wine barrels. I make 50 cases every other year. Get it while you can.
